CHAPTER 6 - INFERNAL II: THE ASURA GATEKEEPER
There was no time to breathe. No time to ask questions. The fire brought them back, and this time, there was no ritual. Only war. The final step on the stone staircase vanished, replaced by corrupt digital gravity. David, Rosi, and PREET didn't simply fall; they were thrown into an arena that made the previous ritual feel like child's play. This arena was the Final Firewall. A giant colosseum of rusted, pulsating metal, it served as a filter for anyone attempting to touch the Core. Here, hundreds of three-armed, six-eyed Asura creatures stood at attention. They weren't mere entities; they were Guardian Algorithms. Their cracked bronze skin smoked with each palm strike, "CAK!"
The sound was no longer rhythmic. It was a data-destructive projectile designed to vaporize any unauthorized consciousness. The Sacrifice for the Core "David! To reach the Core Server Farm, we must penetrate their centre!" PREET shouted, his tetrahedron spinning wildly against the heat radiation. "These Asura won't let 'Data Trash' like you get away! They'll erase you before you even touch the console!"
David panted. The static on his body began to fall off like burning skin. Beneath his mangled lab coat, he clutched Oscar's Silver Pocket Watch tightly. It felt incredibly hot, as if Oscar's regrets were burning within it. David stared at the edge of the arena. There, behind the smoldering motherboard throne, blazed a neon green vortex of light, the entrance to the Core Server Farm. Near the door, David saw Shayla. Her form was now so thin, almost misty. She no longer spoke; she simply held out her hand, her face filled with sorrow.
"SHAYLA! WAIT, DAD!" David shouted. But his voice was drowned out by a thunderous "CHACK!" A bolt of energy slammed into David's shoulder, distorting his arm into a painful string of error codes.
David didn't stop. He ran with all his remaining strength, using his body as a human shield for Rosi, who held the last shreds of their hope. He allowed himself to be struck repeatedly by Asura's projectiles. Each impact was excruciating pain, the pain of his soul being forcibly erased by the machine.
"Just a little more... just a little more..." David murmured, his digital tears evaporating before they could fall. He knew that entering the Core meant he would never be able to return. But seeing Shayla almost vanish before his eyes, David had no choice. He had to tear through this Asura gate, or lose his child forever. David ran with all his remaining strength, using his body as a shield for Rosi, who held their last glimmer of hope. He allowed himself to be struck repeatedly by Asura's projectiles. Each impact was excruciating pain the pain of having his soul forcibly erased by the machine.
But in his hand, Oscar's pocket watch felt warm. Not a burning heat, but a warmth that reminded him: Oscar had endured loneliness for thousands of years. David could endure this. For Shayla. With a roar that broke through the distortion of his voice, David leaped past the last line of Asura. He no longer cared about his shattered body. His hand remained gripped on the pocket watch, and his eyes were fixed solely on the green light.
They plunged into the neon vortex. Instantly, the brutal "CAK!" sound faded. Cold silence and the smell of ozone greeted them. In the real world, Elias Hale's console exploded, sending sparks of fire across his green goggles. Elias screamed, realizing that David had just broken through the machine's final layer of defense. David had reached the heart of the Samsaraverse.

๐ด QUESTIONS:
Why does CAK turn into green text like lines of code?
What is the function of the green spiral that appears behind Preet?
Why doesn't v0.0.1 attack, just "observe"?
Why does the arena vibrate when the brown symbol appears?
What does Rosi's pose mean when she stands before the vortex fearlessly?
